Be My Valentine Tutorial

The top tag is done using a tube and the bottom tag is done using a picture.

Be My Valentine Tag

This tutorial is my own any thing resembling other tutorials
is coincindental.

For this tutorial you will need the Valentine Mini kit from
Aleahs Mommy Designs. Its a freebie kit and can be found
here. You will aslo need a picture or tube of your choice.

I am using psp version 9 but I think you could use any version.
No outside plugins or filters needed.

Open 2 papers from the kit and the third paper I used is
Valentine Mini 6. Windows duplicate each paper and close
the orginials. One of the papers you choose will be your main
background and the other one will be your frame for your pic or
tube.

Choose the main background paper and minimize your second choice.
Make Valentine Mini 6 your active canvas. Edit copy, go back to your
first choice paper and click on it to make it the active canvas. Edit
paste as new layer. Close Valentine Mini 6.

You should now have two canvases open. One with 2 layers , your background
layer (paper of choice) and raster 1. On the Valentine Mini 6 layer,
which should be your top layer, on the layer pallet, lower the opacity to
46. (or to some thing that you like once the background layer starts to
show through. On raster 1 rt click and promote layer. Rt click again,
merge all flatten. You should now only have one layer, the background layer.

Open your minimized paper, edit copy, you can now close this paper. You
should only have your main canvas open now. Edit paste as a new layer.

Image resize 85% making sure that not all layers is NOT Checked. Repeat
resize 2 more times. Merge all flatten. Promote background layer. You
should now only have raster 1 layer on the layer pallet.

****Note*****
Only do the step below if you are using a picture. For tube see below this step

Selection tool, rounded retangle, on the paper you resized in the center of
the tag, draw out your retangle. Hit the delete key once. Effects 3d effects
inner bevel. Settings your choice. Using a color that matches your paper.

If your using a tube. Open the tube and copy and paste it as a new layer. Resize
your tube if needed. Image frame. Make sure the tube layer is high lighted on
the layer pallet. Merge all flatten. Add tube info if known. Add your frame again.

Decorate with elements from the kit. Each element should be added as a new layer.
Open one element at a time. Copy and paste as new layer. Add any text you want.
Add your watermark or info. Merge all flatten. Open a new canvas, 500 x 500
transparent, Selection, select all. Go back to your tag image and copy and paste it
into the blank canvas. When pasting, paste into selection. Selection select none.
Merge all flatten. Save as a jpg. Thats it. Your done.

AMD Lymphoma Awarness Kit

This is Lisa's Lymphoma Kit made to honor her Dad. How this kit came about is below.
This kit is very special to me. On August 4, 2009 I took my dad to the ER
Not knowing what was wrong with him, I wanted to know why he couldn't swallow
Or breathe very good on his own. Before this he had never been sick.
The ER docs at Henry Ford Main in Detroit, MI took the best care of my dad.
They did an ER tracheostomy so he could breathe & while they were doing
It they did a biopsy of a LARGE tumor on the back of his tongue. They
Admitted him to the hospital & found Malignant Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
After doing 2 months of chemo there is no sign of the tumor on his tongue
Or the tumors they found in his abdomen. I am proud to say he is in full
Remission right now. This kit is in his honor & hopefully it will spread
Awareness about the disease. The colors I used are green, red & blue. I used
Green because it is the color for lymphoma awareness & red & blue are
My dads favorite colors. All proceeds from this kit will go towards the
Hospital bills. As of right now his first bill is over $37,000.

There is a little boy, named Dakin (who's almost 2), that has a terrible disease called SMA. This disease is the #1 genetic killer of children! Many people have never even heard of this horrible disease.

Dakin's mom, Devon, is trying to raise money for the research of SMA. We thought that we'd give her some help and donate a $10 gift certificate to our store (Bouquet of Pixels). She's also got some other nice donations, too: 1) a gorgeous bow set from Littlest Boutique and 2) Three lovely sets of earings.

Litterbox Creations Ct Challenge

On the left is my youngest grandson, Drake. On the right is my oldest grandson Joshua.

Josh will be 10 in June. He's in the fourth grade. He has always been on the honor roll. When he was younger, he used to like to get his picture taken. He would ham it up for the camera. When he had had enough he would put his hand on his forehead and say "No more pictures please". He still likes to ham it up for the camera. He likes to take pictures to.

Josh is the quiet one. He would rather be inside reading thank outside playing. This past summer he was outside alot. We spent a lot of time in my neighbors pool. He loved being in the pool and playing with my neighbors 2 sons.

When Josh was younger his nick name was "Boogie". I gave him that nick name because he liked to be held and danced around the room. He liked to dance standing on your feet. He still dances on occassion but mostly now he likes to listen to music on his mp3 player.

Drake will be 5 in September. He is always looking for something to get into, even things he knows he shouldn't be. His only quiet times is when he is coloring. He loves to color things he has drawn. He tapes his pictures on the wall, gives the to Nana(me) or to Pops (Dale) or to his Mom (Nicki my our Daughter). He also gives them to my neighbor Elesa. Mine and Pop's pictures he tells me to take home and put on the fridge. I do. My fridge will soon be out of space to put them.

Drake loves to be outside no matter what the tempture or weather. He likes to explore his surroundings and ask how things work. When he can he loves to hang out with Pops outside. He loves to go on walks and look at things he sees along the way. Drake also likes books and likes for you to read to him.

Drakes nick name was munchie. I gave him this nick name because when he was born he was so sick that we almost lost him twice. Before he was 3 months old he had to have surgery on his stomach. His food wasn't going into his stomach. He wasnt able to keep his formula down. They had to make an opening for his food to go into his stomach. After the surgery he as fast as he could and all that we would give him. No his nick name is "Little Man". I chose this one because he thinks he's he boss
and will try and tell you what to do.

Like most siblings they love each other but fight and make up just a few minutes after fighting.

I also have a step grandson, Brett who is 12 and a step grand-daughter Keydance who is a little over 6 months old. They are no different than Josh and Drake. I consider them my grand children as if they were my real grand children. I love them all.

And there you have. My pride and joy.

About Me

I live in a small rural town In West Virginia in the United States. I have lived in WV most of my life. I was born in Georgia.

I have been married to my Husband for 29 years. We have one daughter and two grandsons. In the pic with me, which is an old pic is my oldest grandson who is now 9 years old. My youngest grandson is 3.

My hobbies are reading, crafts, playing in psp, sketching, writing poetry, cooking and spending lots of time doing things with family and friends.

I have been playing in psp off and on for about 9 years now and have learned a lot of things from various groups that I have belonged to through out the years.

I love being outdoors. I love watching thunder and lightening storms. Walking in a gentle rain and puddle splashing with my grandsons. I love spending time with family and doing family activities. Time spent with my friends doing things or just sitting and talking.

Some of my favorite things are:

Season-Fall, when the leaves change colors. I like to drive out in the country just to see the changing leaves.

Cooking-for family and friends. I don't really like cleaning up but someone has to do it.

Books by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I also like to read romance novels.

Movies any thing that is about vampires or the super natural.

Music that I like are the golden oldies and some rock. My all time favorite 2 songs are Amazing Grace and Old Time Rock and Roll.

I also like to spend time on the net chatting with my family and friends.
